Metadata4Ing: An ontology for describing the generation of research data within a scientific activity (v. 1.0.0) | m4i | The ontology Metadata4Ing is developed within the NFDI Consortium NFDI4Ing with the aim of providing a thorough framework for the semantic description of research data, with a particular focus on engineering sciences and neighbouring disciplines. This ontology allows a thorough description of the whole data generation process (experiment, observation, simulation), embracing the object of investigation, all sample and data manipulation procedures, a summary of the data files and the information contained, and all personal and institutional roles. The subordinate classes and relations can be built according to the two principles of _inheritance_ and _modularity_. _Inheritance_ means that a subclass inherits all properties of its superordinate class, possibly adding some new ones. _Modularity_ means that all expansions are independent of each other; this makes possible for instance to generate expanded ontologies for any possible combinations of method × object of research. | Fri Apr 15 09:02:57 GMT 2022 |

The OAI ORE terms vocabulary | ORE | Open Archives Initiative Object Reuse and Exchange (OAI-ORE) defines standards for the description and exchange of aggregations of Web resources. OAI-ORE introduces the notion of a Resource Map, an RDF Graph which describes the Aggregation, the aggregated Resources of which it is composed, and the relationships between them (and/or the relationships between these and other resources). Since a Resource Map is an RDF Graph, it can be serialized using any RDF syntax. This document outlines the use of one such syntax for the serialization of Resource Maps: RDF/XML | Fri Apr 15 09:05:53 GMT 2022 |

PREMIS | premis3 | PREMIS is based on a data model that defines the entities that are described (Objects, Events, Agents and Rights), the properties of those entities (semantic units), and relationships between them. The PREMIS OWL ontology provides an RDF encoding reflecting that model. This revised version replaces the earlier PREMIS OWL ontology, which was based on version 2.2. The PREMIS OWL Ontology Revision Working Group, appointed by the PREMIS Editorial Committee, worked on the ontology between early 2016 and September 2018. This revision is based on the PREMIS Data Dictionary, version 3.0 and has substantially remodeled the previous ontology, incorporating emerging Linked Data best practices and connections to other relevant RDF ontologies, e.g. PROV-O (Provenance ontology), Dublin Core metadata terms, and the preservation vocabularies at http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/preservation, among others. | Fri May 27 15:48:51 GMT 2022 |

The PROV Ontology | PROV | The PROV Ontology (PROV-O) expresses the PROV Data Model [PROV-DM] using the OWL2 Web Ontology Language (OWL2) [OWL2-OVERVIEW]. It provides a set of classes, properties, and restrictions that can be used to represent and interchange provenance information generated in different systems and under different contexts. It can also be specialized to create new classes and properties to model provenance information for different applications and domains. The PROV Document Overview describes the overall state of PROV, and should be read before other PROV documents. | Fri Apr 15 09:06:53 GMT 2022 |
